Key Account Manager (Mental Health)

Major responsibilities
Key Account Management
· Coordinate all account level interactions
· Design and implement a Key Account Management strategy for territory and utilise the matrix team to deliver on-target performance
· Lead the development, implementation and regular evaluation and revisions of the detailed account-level business plan, aligned with the national brand objectives
· Provide regular and accurate territory performance reports and customer and environmental insights to the sales manager and other members of the cross-functional team
· Identify key trends in the local NHS environment across treatment settings (not just within the Trust) and proactively identify and drive appropriate business opportunities that will be of mutual benefit locally and potentially nationally for patients, the NHS and.
· Identify when other resource (e.g. head office, Medical lead) is required in customer engagements and coordinate this engagement to deliver commercial objectives
Market Access
· Map patient flows and commissioning funding flows across both secondary and primary care services and identify points of leverage/bottlenecks
· Drive the development of commercially positive formulary, guideline and protocol inclusions for promoted brands in target accounts across both secondary and primary care incorporating trust and APC formularies where appropriate. This includes securing of reimbursement (where appropriate), permission to prescribe, as well as the subsequent implementation and business pull-through
· Deliver other business-critical market access projects e.g., service redesign/shared care guidelines
Sales Delivery
· Accountable for achievement of the territory sales target
· Generate clinical demand for products
· Promote and sell product(s) by influencing customer opinion (prescribing, non-prescribing and commercial)
· Establish strong business relationships with identified key customer groups (clinical and non-clinical) to ensure commercial objectives are met as per plan
Person Specifications
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
· 5+ years hospital sales experience with proven successful sales record – ideally with 12 months+ in Mental Health. Candidates must be able to demonstrate being able to ‘hit the ground running’ in the Mental Health space
· Recent experience of launching a hospital product – including in-depth understanding of the NHS e.g., commissioning and patient pathways and experience of gaining market access at a local level, with proven record of formulary success on both Trust and CCG levels
· Excellent interpersonal and multi-platform skills i.e., selling, influencing, facilitating, negotiating, networking and communication in person and online
· Strong numerical and analytical skills and ability to assimilate and analyse complex data from multiple sources to be able to review and boost own performance, set and monitor business objectives and deliver Key Account Management approach
· Self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility and a track record of working independently and meeting sales targets – without relying on a big organisation / resources behind
· Positive, can-do attitude, commitment and proactivity; resilient, flexible and adaptable
· Full driving licence
