Oligonucleotide Synthesis Scientist
Company Information
My client is an oligonucleotide synthesis provider specialising in the synthesis of high-quality modified oligonucleotides, with labs in Southampton and Oxford. They supply oligonucleotides for various uses including COVID-19 testing and their DNA is used all over the world in academic and commercial research in the fields of genetics, genomics, molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology and nanotechnology.
Role Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
– carry out cutting-edge oligonucleotide synthesis and analysis
– involved in and trained on all stages of synthesis process and QC
– involved in R&D
– dealing with customers
Person Specifications
The successful candidate will have:
• at least an undergraduate degree in chemistry and a PhD in a relevant area (or a
related discipline), and some experience working in a chemistry laboratory or industry.
• experience in nucleic acid chemistry is desirable but not essential
• experience with HPLC and mass spectrometry; experience working with Waters LCMS
systems is highly desirable
• proven ability to work well both individually and as part of a small team
• excellent spoken and written English
• the ability to keep accurate laboratory records and work in a neat and clean
environment.
• experience with ISO 9001 is desirable but not essential
