Role Overview
Are you an analytical scientist with experience in LC-MS looking for a great new career opportunity?
If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join a leading analytical company based in Cardiff, as an Applications Chemist!
As Applications Chemist, you will work as part of the team setting up and running this laboratory, which will be focused on providing the best application support to customers.
Role Requirements
Your work will involve:
· Providing application support and method development to customers, delivering instrument demonstrations and responding to customer requests for advice, through appropriate means i.e. online, phone, email, face-to-face visits etc.;
· Working with customers to develop successful applications using company products, through lab-work, advice, published references, industry organisations, and other forms of science-based communication;
· Supporting company account managers, providing technical back-up as necessary and accompanying on customer site visits when needed;
· Based on customer requirements and involvement with scientific organisations, identify, submit, and develop hot applications in conjunction with the applications development program, including laboratories in the UK and US.
Person Specifications
The successful candidate for this role will have:
· An undergraduate degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline such as, forensics, clinical, environmental/food agriculture;
· Experience with mass spectrometry (GC/MS, LC/MS) and/or other analytical techniques is required;
· Some practical industry experience working in analytical chemistry/chromatography and application development;
· Proven ability to work well both individually and as part of a small team;
· The ability to keep accurate laboratory records and work in a neat and clean environment.
