Exciting Opportunity for a PhD educated Scientist or an Experienced Sales Person to join a leading company within the Analytical Chemistry Market!
Territory: Midlands
Products: All Chromatography and associated MS products, all Spectroscopy Instruments and any other instruments that may be launched during the course of the year, and designated for sale by the company.
This is a high activity, sales development role with a clear purpose and focus to develop an increased quantity of new customers, as well as developing existing customer relationships.
The role is to act as a representative of the company on a predefined geographical area. The individual will implement their role as part of team approach, with activity supported by senior sales and technical specialists, with the shared aim of exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
To learn, embrace and implement best practice sales methodologies that ensure the effective execution of pre-planned sales activities in terms of quantity, direction and quality of such activities:
· Quantity: ensuring a high-level number of appointments each week to enable the continuous building of a robust, sustainable sales pipeline
· Direction – the research, identification and selection of appropriate new customers who could benefit from company solutions and services across a range of sectors including Academia, Beverage, Chemical, Clinical, Energy, Environmental, Food, Petrochemical and Pharmaceutical markets
1. Quality – to implement a highly professional, consultative sales process that enables customer requirements to be fully addressed and exceeded
2. To have a proficient knowledge of all the chromatography, spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry products with emphasis on the relevant features and benefits for our customers.
3. To effectively organise oneself in terms of time and travel to maximise time in front of a customer, to visit at least 3 independent customers per day.
4. To maintain the Company CRM database for the territory in terms of all activity and customer contacts, customer information and sales opportunities, strictly on a regular basis.
5. To attend and fully represent the company at any trade or media event e.g. exhibitions, which you may from time to time be asked to attend.
6. To endeavour at all times to portray the company in a positive image to customers and our trade, and to maintain the professionalism expected to ensure this.
7. To ensure all company assets that are provided to carry out the job are maintained in an appropriate and business like condition e.g. company car; laptop, i-Phone, i-Pad.
8. To interact professionally with all other field personnel that will from time to time be actively supporting you in the territory e.g. Technical Specialists, Service Engineers, Business Managers.
9. To fully comply to and operate within the pricing and discount directives set in place by the company.
10. To fully comply to and operate within the operational guidelines for quotations (i.e. the accuracy and format) as directed by the company.
11. Any other appropriate and reasonable task that may be required from time to time upon request of the company.
A Chemistry Degree (or similar) is essential as is the need to possess exceptional interpersonal skills coupled with a burning desire for sales achievement. The ideal candidate will also have applications experience with one or more of the scientific disciplines mentioned above.
Previous sales experience isn’t essential if you are educated to PhD level.
