Senior / Account Director – Med Comms Jobs / PR
Role Overview
As an Account Director you will develop relationships with clients in a leadership capacity, through day-to-day activities on accounts. Also to demonstrate growing competencies in strategic counsel and support account team and ensure all work is delivered with passion, precision and to the highest quality.
Client Service and Satisfaction
Project management of client events and programmes. Keep in regular contact with the client and the team to incorporate feedback.
Drive and ensure the delivery of campaigns and events across the team at the highest standard
Promote the value and importance of client feedback and review with team and develop a client-focused culture. Manage post project evaluations, highlighting strengths and identifying opportunities to improve future campaigns.
Constantly update and maintain an understanding of client’s business and sector to improve counsel to client – becoming an extension of the client’s internal team.
Use client feedback to make continuous improvement to client service.
Ensure team complete all administration and reporting internally and in line with client requirements.
Commercial and Financial Management:
Create programme budgets.
Negotiate and finalise with the client any budget adjustments and explore opportunities for additional projects.
Develop fee forecasting and programme phasing.
Prepare for and lead end-of-month recognitions. Demonstrate an understanding of over- and under-spend.
Proactively encourage the team to drive, deliver and understand the importance of participation and completion of fee forecasts, timesheets, resourcing and other key processes.
Contribute to year-end and campaign reconciliations. Work closely with finance team.
Ensure contracts are in place before commissioning work with suppliers.
Teamwork and Team Leadership:
Hold regular team meetings and share client and company information to keep team informed and engaged. Use team meetings as an opportunity to share knowledge.
Plan and prioritise work with team to ensure completion according to client requirements and deadlines.
Complete performance reviews, objective setting and career and development planning for direct reports. Act on results and outputs.
Support the team in delivering programmes by driving the quality and direction of the team on day-to-day basis. Provide insight into the strategic direction of activities.
Act as a coach to junior team members, and ensure objectives are met and individuals have clear career plans.
Maintain regular communication with junior and senior team members ensuring teams operate in most effective and efficient way to meet client needs.
Maintain involvement in team/wider management initiatives.
Speak regularly with colleagues to ensure an accurate view and understanding of their workload, priorities, deadlines and aspirations. Delegate projects and activities to stretch performance and capability.
Conduct interviews for prospective candidates, and use the recruitment process to enhance the reputation of Galliard and Nyxeon.
Maintain the highest level of professional conduct.

Person Specifications
Demonstrate and develop client counsel skills, acting as a strategic counsel to the client. Create and develop a range of documents for clients including advertorials, media materials, reactive statements, Q&As and key messages.
Manage/drive client teams and development of plans for client work, communicating to the team any priorities, deadlines, developments and decisions made, involving key senior staff as needed.
Review teams work and provide constructive feedback on the tone and creative direction of the work. Take positive and timely action to address and re- align work to client objectives.
Demonstrate excellent feedback skills and take every opportunity to provide guidance and support to team members on an ongoing basis.
Consistently demonstrate exceptional verbal skills.
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key media, influencers, third parties, Galliard/Nyxeon and Ashfield colleagues to provide appropriate skills and input to programmes and activities.
Demonstrate a passion for science and the ability to rapidly assess, process and articulate complex science.
Continuously update and maintain understanding and knowledge of the media and market in which clients operate, as well as our competitive landscape.
Run/actively participate in creative brainstorm sessions, share new ideas and support and encourage colleagues.
Demonstrate and maintain up-to-date knowledge and capability in all main software packages including MS Office.
Manage teams and business in compliance with all legal, financial, HR and other company policies and procedures.
Package
Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on experience
Annual holiday entitlement – 25 days plus the working days between Christmas and New Year, with the option to purchase an additional 5 days. Holiday entitlement increases by 1 day per year after 5 years to a maximum of 30 days after 10 years’ service
·Pension – You will be entitled to join the pension scheme from the first day of the third month following your start date. Galliard contributes 7% of your base salary into the plan and in addition, you will be required to make a 1% contribution (in order to meet the total 8% minimum legal contribution), although you can of course contribute more if you want
Life assurance – The company pays the full cost of providing life assurance to the value of two times your annual salary
Long term sick cover – If illness takes you out of work for an extended period of time this cover will pay 50% of your salary indefinitely until you return to work
Incentive plan – The company operates a discretionary bonus payment, assessed at the end of the financial year (December)

Personal development fund – You are entitled to £250 per tax year to go towards a personal self-improvement activity outside of work; this does not have to be work related
