They are now seeking an in-house service engineer
Company Information
Our client is a surplus Asset Management Company committed to sustainability by offering a marketplace for repurposing surplus laboratory, industrial, and office equipment. Their platform enables the redistribution of idle assets from businesses and institutions, reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact. By connecting sellers and buyers, our client promotes a circular economy where items that would otherwise be discarded are reused, extending the lifecycle of valuable equipment. The company serves various industries, including biotech, pharmaceuticals, and research, with a focus on reducing costs associated with new equipment purchases and minimizing contributions to landfills.
Role Requirements
· Incoming Triage- Perform initial triage and testing of all incoming equipment when received
· System Management- Update our ERP system for service status of all items
· Repairs- Perform basic repairs on all items and update our ERP system relative to the costs of these repairs
· Sales- Liaize with our sales team regarding the salability and functionality of all equipment to help them optimize ROI
· Refurbishment- Identify and perform refurbishment of items that warrant (based on discussions with Sales) it
· 3rd Parties- Identify and manage any 3rd party specialists used to outsource the servicing of items that can not be handled internally
· Outgoing- Perform a thorough inspection and service of all items prior to shipment
· Claims- Work to measure and reduce service claims; And to work with our sales, finance and warehousing teams and clients to process and manage claims for service related issues
· Mentoring- Mentor the junior service technicians
Person Specifications
· Education- The ideal candidate has an engineering degree; But not required
· Service- 5+ years of “hands on” experience in the servicing of laboratory equipment
· Equipment- Knowledge and experience with a wide array of laboratory equipment
· People Skills- Proven ability and experience in working with internal warehousing, sales, accounting teams in addition to clients and 3rd party vendors
