Role Overview

The Role
You will work with the Head of Biology and the Leadership Team, to plan and deliver a programme of work to integrate our oligonucleotide synthesis & assembly processes. You will provide technical and programmatic leadership, setting our strategic direction and will facilitate communication between the Biologists and their collaborators. You will use your innovative & practical experience to provide solutions & will take a hands-on approach to guide and supervise the experimental work.

Person Specifications

Essential
You should be educated to PhD level in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related subject in Biosciences.
Your experience should encompass leading cross-functional development teams, with a proven track record of commercialising molecular platforms.
Hands-on experience utilising molecular biology methods for engineering and analysis.
Experience working with NGS, Sanger Sequencing & cloning technologies.
Demonstrate a strong background working with molecular enzymology, synthetic biology, and gene editing technologies.
Experience designing and optimising commercially viable wet chemistries (stability, robustness, and performance).
Experience developing, documenting & implementing, quality management systems.

Desirable
Knowledge and use of microfluidic platforms and automating analysis.
Experience of working with oligo pools in molecular biology applications.
Track record working with optical systems for DNA detection and quantification.
Knowledge and experience of programming (R, Linux, and Perl).
A good understanding of product design & development (ISO 13485; 9001)
Worked-up lyophilisation techniques.
