Strategic Partnerships Director
Role Overview
As Strategic Partnership Director you will have responsibility over business development decisions to maximise commercial growth. The role requires someone with strong strategic capabilities within the field of cardiovascular and metabolic medicine and able to apply this across new therapy areas quickly as needed.
Company Information
We are working with a boutique medical communications agency who are originally focused on running medical education activities. They have been diversifying to offer full medical communications services which include content generation, review, publication work and digital activities.
To date they are a team of 20 and their employees enjoy a mix of fully remote and hybrid working.
They have developed a strong reputation within the cardiovascular field, however their client base spans across oncology and rare disease as well as cardiovascular medicine.
Role Requirements
· Inputting into the senior management team at commercial level to support a business development strategy.
· Leading or support on pitches for new medical communication RFPs
· Using previous industry contacts to springboard growth within the agency in terms of client bandwidth
· Creation of sales offering in year one to industry (sponsored meeting/partnership)
· Sales of sponsorship packages for new conference in 2024 and website
· Engagement of industry partnership
· Supporting all account teams around ideas/new activities for current clients/pitches and proposals to current accounts
· Supporting CEO with a longer-term strategy
Person Specifications
Skills Required
· A clear understanding of market conditions and industry trends to help support and plan business development and growth strategies.
· Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities to support the acquisition of new clients.
· Strong presentation skill and negotiation skill capabilities
· The ability to consider marketing activities for the brand and to generate new revenue streams and encourage sustainable growth
· Natural team player with the ability to build rapport across all areas of the existing
Level of Experience
· Mid to senior level business development experience within a medical communications or medical education agency
· Understanding and experience within the cardiovascular, diabetes or renal space particularly in relation to business development
· Previous leadership/management experience
· Previous business development or senior client service experience in publishing or medical communications organisation
· Account/business development skills – 4 years plus
· Understanding of pharma compliance and medical communications projects – 1-2 years
· Strong understanding of the ABPI code of conduct
· Experience and understanding of sponsored/grant funded projects
Package
Salary c.£70,000 depending on experience plus agreed bonus scheme based on revenue target
