Role Overview

We are looking for an experience cold storage engineer who has knowledge of ISO17025 and is looking for a step up in career to move into this exciting new Technical Service Manager position for an ever-growing leading scientific company

The successful candidate will be working in a team-based environment, this position has overall responsibility of the Calibration Division in the management of all validation and accredited calibration activities carried out by the company. This role includes maintaining the schedule and personnel to carry out timely installations/service and calibration visits that meet customer expectations. As Technical Manager, other duties include managing customer contact. Foster a professional appearance and approach with your team in order to create and maintain the reputation of the company as you interface with all laboratory accounts across the Clinical, Pharmaceutical, Food & Feed and Academic sectors.

This will be a both an office and field based role, being in the office in Banbury 2 days a week.

Role Requirements

· Manage all of the validation/calibration engineering functions.
· Lead, integrate & project manage validation/calibration tasks from initial concept through to successful completion and delivery.
· Continue to seek, support, sell and drive new business/business development for Calibration dept.
· Carry out Service/Repair and Installation of customer equipment on site and in the work shop
· Provide leadership, support and guidance to technical specialists and field service engineers by quickly developing technical knowledge of the contracted equipment.
· Support and co-operate with the Technical Service Coordinator (TSC) to ensure customer expectations are met and all aspects of the calibration department operate efficiently and smoothly
· Ensure Engineer Training records are kept up to date and that Engineer training requirements are monitored and addressed through an effective training plan in cooperation with the service manager.
· Track, analyse and monitor customer returned equipment, parts utilization, field service parts inventories and general service spare part stock. Ensure cycle counting and stock count reports are available to accounts as required.
· Work closely with Sales account managers to ensure their technical requirements are addressed.
· Ensure engineering hours are efficiently used daily.
· Ensure laboratory is compliant with the requirements of ISO 17025.
· Provide monthly reports on engineers and own time usage.
· Adherence to all health, safety and quality requirements and procedures.

Person Specifications

· Previous experience working within a cold storage environment
· Strong technical engineering experience working on laboratory experience
· Worked to ISO17025 standards
· Commutable to Oxford office – Banbury
· Willingness to travel – full valid driving license
· Ambitious to progress into management
