Territory Manager- Scientific Sales- Microbiology/Haematology
An exciting opportunity for a commercially minded scientist to move into scientific sales!
The Territory Manager is responsible for selling clinical diagnostics products into the NHS and private pathology laboratories in the South West UK and Wales including Liverpool, Manchester and Blackpool.
Laboratory experience either gained through a PhD or 2+ years’ post degree laboratory experience working as a Biomedical Scientist, or a Clinical Scientist using immunological/biochemistry/haematology/microbiology or related techniques is preferred!
This global company sell clinical diagnostics products to NHS and private pathology laboratories and have a great reputation for product quality with their customers!
This role involves managing the complete sales process and all accounts on the territory to maintain and grow business. The company provide a wide support network within their team to help develop and train new starters. This position is field-based with around 80% travel to customer sites across the region, with around one day per week working from home.
PRODUCTS: Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology and Haematology diagnostic tests and instrumentation
TERRITORY: South West UK and Wales
CLIENTS: NHS and private clinical laboratories
Role Requirements
– Achieving sales objectives for this region, including targets on selling individual systems/instrumentation in this territory.
– Maintaining current customer relationships as well as developing new business opportunities in the region.
– Maintaining and update visit analysis files/records, and report this back to the Sales Manager on a monthly basis.
– Updating records for all key prospects and accounts that you are targeting as business development opportunities and ensure a regular visit pattern.
– Visiting the key (top 20) highest revenue customers in this region at least once per quarter and report on any issues internally to ensure that the customer’s needs are met.
– Working on tenders in your regions, ensuring that all tenders for your area are submitted by the correct date.
– Attending industry networking events, exhibitions, conferences and seminars when required.
Person Specifications
– BSc in a Biomedical Science or Biological based subject.
– Laboratory experience either gained through a PhD or 2+ years’ post degree laboratory experience working as a Biomedical Scientist, Clinical Scientist or in a laboratory with experience using ELISA/immunological or related techniques.
– Excellent communication skills and understanding of scientific sales (what the role entails) and motivation for moving into the industry.
– Sales experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
