Role Requirements
– To manage a sales territory that will include a mixture of Key Accounts, Pharma, Biotechs, Hospitals and Academic Accounts.
– Management of Sales Targets which will be a mixture of instrument unit sales and overall revenue for the territory.
– Utilise Applications Consultants & Support Personnel to plan and execute demonstrations and be involved in pre & post sales qualifications.
– Key Account Management and interaction at all levels in these accounts
– To actively explore market potential for the automation of applications in a new or diverse range of subject areas. Projects will range from simple stand alone solutions to complex multi-instrument projects.
– To liaise with Switzerland for the management and execution of complex sales.
– Arrange exhibitions and customer demonstrations.
– There is a real potential to develop “beyond the role” in time and contribute to the overall development of our client as well as recognise individual potential.
Key Tasks:
– Requirement for a pro-active “Hunter” that can penetrate new accounts and recognise business opportunities.
– To ensure the overall ethos, integrity and business presence of our cient. is well represented in the market place.
– To act with integrity and diligence in the execution of your duties.
– Maintain a continuous update of our CRM system. The Customer Database, Product Information and Opportunities and Project Tracking
– Maintain regular visits/contact with existing and new customers.
– Develop Cold Calls and Penetration into new accounts and market segments where appropriate for their portfolio of products.
– Understand the key issues and market potential within your territory with regular action plans and new lead generation
– Utilise resources provided by telemarketing and close collaboration with partner and 3rd party companies to develop penetration of accounts and business intelligence in the territory.
– Organise and run regular workshops/seminars/exhibitions/mailings to develop sales opportunities.
– Provide first hand feedback of competitive strategies and tactics, service quality, product usability etc.
– To acquire and maintain complete up to date knowledge and information concerning competitors products and services.
Person Specifications
– Previous experience of automation support and Capital Sales advantageous. Candidates will need to demonstrate a clear track record and potential to improve further.
– High Value negotiation competencies with procurement, senior management and end users
– High degree of IT literacy and scientific knowledge associated with our market segment….specifically Genomics, Drug Discovery, Stem Cells, and more esoteric Science
– Customer driven attitude with a primary focus on customer satisfaction.
– Proven interpersonal and team skills.
– Proven track record in “Consultative Solution Selling”. A genuine “hungry” self-starter that can work as an individual but also engage and drive a team approach
– BSc in relevant Life Science field. The desire to “self-teach” subject areas as the opportunities require and to complement provided training.
– Knowledge of existing and potential customer base advantageous.
– Results driven, self-starter with anability to meet deadlines and work under pressure…
– The role will receive considerable assistance by the team and sales manager to help establish the individual in the territory.
