Role Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong clinical microbiology background to move into their first commercial role within a company that offers great training and development opportunities and has an excellent quality product range.

TERRITORY: South West and Wales

Role Requirements

Specific responsibilities will include:
– Responsible for the performance and development of business in the assigned sales territory,
– Achieving sales targets set by the UK Sales Manager.
– Developing business plans with the senior management and a sales strategy for the market launch of new products that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
– Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
– Assist in the preparation of action plans for individuals as well as the team for effective search of sales leads, product launches and prospects.
– Assist in the development and coordination of such development action plans to penetrate new markets.
– Provide timely and accurate competitive pricing on product competitors, monitor in field pricing and quotations in line with agreed possible discount levels, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
– Maintain accurate and timely records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted using the company intranet based CRM system.
– Create and conduct presentations for customer presentations. .
– Set examples, and lead by example, for the sales team in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
– Maintain contact with all customers in the market area to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. In support of company’s products and services.
– Attend regular training with the sales team to build confidence in the promotion of the products. Assist in the preparation of UK trade exhibitions.
– Assist with customer focus group presentations.
– Attend appropriate sales exhibitions in the UK on all sales territories.
– Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
– Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

Person Specifications

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
– Scientific background with laboratory experience, degree qualification in Microbiology.
– Education to required standard for the position
– Specific additional training as required will be identified and requested in line with individual and company goals.
– The position works under the supervision of the General Manager and the UK Sales Manager.
