Workshop Engineer – Milton Keynes- Laboratory Diagnostics, haemtology & coagulation

Full / Part Time: Full Time
Hours: Monday – Friday 09.00 – 17.30 (37.5 hours per week)
Job Summary
The successful candidate will work as part of the workshop team with the workshop supervisor and field staff or specialists in the workshop as appropriate.
The role will involve providing a high quality service to individuals and departments to deliver a consistently high level of customer care and to maintain exceptionally high standards in the repair of instruments returned to the workshop.
The key purpose of this role is to ensure that our customers both internal and external receive excellent service: Communication with both customers and colleagues, update of call logs, repair and testing of faulty analysers and run up and preparation of IT products or analysers for installation as well as daily workshop duties.
The Workshop Engineer will perform their job functions not only in line with the company’s expectations, but will actively define new, higher standards.
Apply their skills and experience to ensure they deliver technical service to the highest level of support to all customers, internal and external.
To ensure that they perform their job functions in line with the Company’s expectation in all aspects of their work, whilst adhering at all times to the Health & safety policy.
Person Specifications
This role would be suitable for someone who has just finished their apprenticeship or degree as well as those with relevant job experience.
Qualifications Education and Training
Minimum Level 3 qualification or equivalent in electronic and mechanical engineering
Skills, Knowledge and Aptitudes
Essential –
Technical fault finding & problem solving techniques
Report writing, good level of written English and attention to detail
Reading & understanding of technical diagrams
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work independently and to deadlines
Excellent Communication skills, enabling them to communicate effectively at all levels
Previous working experience in a customer facing role (Part time, full time or work-experience)
Must have experience of using Microsoft office products
Desirable –
Understanding & experience on hydraulic and pneumatic principles
Hold a full driving licence
