Adona Medical Series C Funding Raises $33.5M

Adona Medical, a Shifamed portfolio firm, revealed today that it has received $33.5 million in a Series C funding round to help fund the development of technology for changeable heart shunts.

Based in Los Gatos, California The money will be used by Adona to advance the development of products. Additionally, it plans to start using its bi-atrial pressure sensing integrated adjustable interatrial shunt clinically.

The Adona device has a shunt with a flow channel that provides a flexible shape that may expand or contract at any point after the implant. When performing the first surgery, this might assist optimise the shunting flow or dosage for the individual’s needs. Then, when the patient’s condition changes as time passes, it may be adjusted.
