Defra to Assist Animal Farmers Combat Diseases
Recent government funding is now accessible to assist English cattle producers in combating two illnesses. The assistance is offered as part of the initiative to combat endemic illnesses by the Animal Health and Welfare Pathway.
Pork farmers may collect £923 as part of it to have the porcine reproductive and respiratory sickness (PRRS) virus tested more thoroughly.
Additionally, the help will be used to assist farmers in identifying sheep and cattle on farms who have bovine viral diarrhoea (BVD) that are consistently infected.
Dairy cow keepers do not currently have access to this help, but Defra stated that they will be informed when it becomes accessible.
In addition to examination, farmers will get guidance from Defra about the test outcomes, especially how to increase biosecurity and eradicate illness from their farm.
