OSF Healthcare Joins Forces with DELFI For New Lung Cancer Test

In an effort to increase the number of people screened for lung cancer, OSF HealthCare and DELFI Diagnostics have joined to introduce the FirstLook Lung test.

in the next 12 months, the FirstLook Lung test, a blood screening technology from DELFI Diagnostics, is going to be extended throughout the SF Ministry and incorporated into primary care environments at 18 OSF facilities.

The test has an 80% sensitivity rate for assessments covering early-stage illness identification, and is intended for recognising lung cancer by examining DNA fragment trends in blood.

OSF HealthCare Cancer Institute founding director James McGee stated: “Early detection of lung cancer is key to improving patient outcomes, and we are confident that innovative, accessible new screening approaches like FirstLook Lung will move the needle on lung cancer screening rates among our patients.’’
