Samsung Medison will Purchase Sonio, an AI ultrasound Business.
Deep learning is used in Sonio’s technology to enhance the visual quality. According to the business, its programme will continue to work across all ultrasound devices.
The companies stated on Wednesday that Samsung Medison will acquire Sonio, a manufacturer of programmes to aid in foetal ultrasound tests.
For roughly $92.4 million, Samsung Medison will purchase every one of Sonio’s stocks, based on an official filing with Reuters and the Financial Supervisory Service of South Korea.
CEO of Samsung Medison, Yong Kwan Kim, commented that the takeover will “bring a paradigm shift in the prenatal ultrasound exam” by combining Sonio’s AI technology with Samsung Medison’s ultrasound devices.
Sonio CEO, Cécile Brosset, stated that the future purchase “creates an exciting growth opportunity for both sides.”
Sonio promised to maintain compatibility between its goods and services and those offered by various manufacturers of ultrasound devices. When the transaction is completed, the business will remain autonomous, with its headquarters located in France.
