Update Record Comes to Pharmacies
Beginning on Friday, June 28, 2024, EMIS Pinnacle began to introduce the GP Connect Update Record functionality to all community pharmacy teams utilising PharmOutcomes. This first includes consultations for pharmacy contraception services and case-finding services for hypertension.
Update Record is an innovation that CPCF IT system providers have started incorporating into their platforms; Positive Solutions and Cegedim have already made the tool available.
Update Record enables secure communication between general practice and patient consultation data gathered from other sources so that the patient record may be updated.
Because the communications are “structured,” the GP system is able to “read” them in a uniform, standardised manner. They may be filed more readily as a result.
Community drug stores are going to be able to exchange data with general practitioners on consultations conducted under Pharmacy First due to support from the system.
