Zimmer and NuVasive Join MedAccred Platform

The MedAccred initiative is a method for guaranteeing excellence across the medical device supply chain, and the accreditation serves as confirmation that a company’s vital manufacturing procedures align with the consensus standards within the sector.  

MedAccred’s program criteria are created by Original Equipment Manufacturer members. The members include Boston Scientific, Medtronic, Roche Diagnostics, and other leading healthcare firms.  

As prospective members, NuVasive and Zimmer Biomet have initiated the process towards achieving complete membership status.  

NuVasive is a medical device company specialising in the development and marketing of products for minimally invasive spinal surgeries. They focus on innovative solutions to treat a variety of spinal conditions.  

Senior manager at NuVasive, Whitney Ginter, stated, “As an innovator in this safety-critical industry, it’s important that we play our part in driving up quality and contribute to development of new, relevant audit criteria that assure the quality of emerging processes and techniques.”  

Deputy chief at MedAccred, Bob Lizewski, added, “It is great for the industry and the patient population to have more and more highly regarded medical device OEMs contributing to the MedAccred program.”
