£35m Awarded to Nine Universities for Cardiovascular Disease research
Nine UK universities have received a total of £35 million in funding from the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to support world-class studies regarding cardiovascular disease.
The cash, which is being supplied by the BHF via its Research Excellence Awards program, will assist research settings that promote cooperation, diversity, and creativity in order to hasten the discovery of vital technologies.
Innovative research on a number of the most pressing issues related to cardiovascular disease will be made possible by the investment for the following five years. These issues include the use of artificial intelligence to improve assessment, the effect of health disparities, the relationship between genes and heart disease risk and the relationship between type 2 diabetes and heart failure.
BHF chief scientific and medical officer stated: “We’re delighted to announce this record funding to enable researchers to address the biggest challenges in cardiovascular disease research.’’
“This funding will attract the brightest talent, power cutting-edge science, and unlock lifesaving discoveries that can turn the tide on the devastation caused by heart and circulatory diseases.”
