Bird Influenza Impacting 92 Cattle Herds in The US
At the present time, 92 dairy cow herds in 12 states have had influenza from birds confirmed by the US government.
The problem has been addressed by the Centres for Disease Control (CDC).
According to the CDC, there are currently three human cases linked to the outbreak thus far, and each of them included having direct interaction with sick cows.
It further said that the general population’s present risk evaluation “remains low.”
But the CDC lately stated in a study that it was “getting ready for the possibility” that the virus may change and become increasingly transmissible among humans.
“On the animal health side, 92 dairy cow herds in 12 US states have confirmed cases of A(H5N1) virus infections in cows as the number of infected herds continues to grow,” the CDC stated.
A ‘low’ risk of contracting the virus in the UK, where there have been no recent occurrences among maintained poultry.
