FMC Corporation and Optibrium Join Forces to Revolutionise Agrochemical Research
Prominent programming and AI development company Optibrium and the world’s top crop safety company FMC Corporation have agreed to a licence for Optibrium’s AI-powered exploration system, Cerella. As per the terms of the arrangement, FMC will integrate Cerella into its agrochemical exploration programmes to improve them and quicken the pipeline’s advancement.
The price, duration, and efficacy of small molecule identification might all be significantly reduced if it were possible to forecast with accuracy which substances, according to early experimental results, would be best to synthesise and which should go on to additional research. Nevertheless, this is challenging to do due to scarce information sets and the impossibility of conducting all pertinent tests on every substance that is relevant to ascertain their characteristics.
Cerella, one of the AI tools in Optibrium’s Augmented Chemistry suite, has demonstrated the ability to precisely “fill in the gaps” in limited information sets, identify the most useful tests to focus on and the ideal compounds for synthesis, thereby increasing chemical production and research returns on spending.
Executive Vice President of FMC, stated: “Our collaboration with Optibrium marks a pivotal moment in crop protection research. By integrating AI into our R&D efforts, we aim to revolutionize how we develop sustainable solutions for farmers and to enhance global food security.”
