Prompt Diagnostics and Fuse Diagnostics Awarded $1M from CARB-X

2nd July 2024

Prompt Diagnostics and Fuse Diagnostics received a $1 million grant from the charity Fighting Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria Biopharmaceutical Accelerator (CARB-X).

With the money it received, Prompt Diagnostics plans to further the creation and introduction of its Prompt point-of-care PCR testing platform and show that it is feasible to identify variations linked to ceftriaxone and additional antibiotic resistance as well as Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

With the help of its grant, Fuse Diagnostics will showcase how well their Apex CT/NG molecular test works for finding Chlamydia trachomatis and N. gonorrhoeae in samples from patients. The company claimed on its official site that its product creates tiny, inexpensive, disposable tests using exclusive multi-analytic amplification chemistry.
