Shimadzu Expands with New Mexican Subsidiary

Shimadzu Corporation, a leading player in analytical and medical instruments, has launched a new subsidiary in Mexico City. This strategic move aims to enhance local support and sales services, aligning with the company’s goal for a 150% business expansion in the region by 2028.

The newly formed subsidiary, Shimadzu México, marks a significant step for the corporation in tapping into Mexico’s booming market. Historically, Shimadzu’s analytical instruments were managed from the US, and medical systems through Brazil. By localizing operations in Mexico, Shimadzu intends to provide tailored sales and service support in Spanish, meeting the regional needs more effectively.

Mexico is witnessing remarkable capital investments, driven by industries linked to electric vehicles, transportation equipment, electrical appliances, and more. Shimadzu’s focus on these high-growth markets, alongside the rapidly developing healthcare sector, ensures that the company is well-positioned to capture expanded market share.

The subsidiary will also feature a state-of-the-art laboratory by autumn 2025, equipped with training and showroom facilities to bolster support for distributors and end-users.
