Submissions Open for Hen Housing Grant
The latest hen housing grants are currently accepting entries from English laying hen and pullet producers with groups of 1,000 birds or larger.
The funds, which were revealed last month and are currently accepting applications and will be utilised to partially finance two distinct kinds of initiatives.
This comprises initiatives costing between £5,000 and $100,000 that aim to add a new veranda to an established building. Additionally, the same sum is provided to help with the expense of rebuilding or renovating the current housing for laying hens and pullets.
Defra commented: “Grants for installing a new veranda on an existing building will be awarded on a first come first served basis because they are simpler, and all eligible projects will meet our high welfare standard.
They continued: “Projects to refurbish or replace existing buildings are more varied, which means that they are scored to ensure that those projects that best meet our grant priorities go forward.”
