Cyted Secures $44M for EndoSign Expansion in US

Cyted, a UK-based GI diagnostics innovator, has secured $44 million to propel its EndoSign capsule sponge into the US market. This strategic investment, led by EQT Life Sciences with support from Advent Life Sciences and British Business Bank, marks a significant boost for the company’s commercial endeavors in the United States. The EndoSign device offers a less invasive option for detecting GI tract conditions, poised to transform diagnostic pathways and expand the company’s test portfolio. 

Cyted’s EndoSign, a swallowable capsule sponge, presents a novel solution to evaluate gastrointestinal conditions like Barrett’s oesophagus with reduced invasiveness compared to traditional endoscopy. The device, which gained FDA clearance in January 2024, has already been deployed in approximately 35,000 tests within the UK’s NHS. This extensive testing has underscored the device’s efficacy in early detection of oesophageal conditions, enabling essential early intervention for patients potentially at risk of developing more severe illnesses. Cyted’s recent fundraising effort increases its total funding to around $57 million and reflects growing confidence in their innovative diagnostics. The company’s commitment to expanding its presence in the US market underscores the international promise of its technology.
