INTEGRA Extends MAGFLO NGS Bead Availability to EU, US

INTEGRA Biosciences has extended the availability of its MAGFLO NGS magnetic beads for nucleic acid purification across Europe and North America. Announced on 30 July 2026, the expansion positions the Switzerland-based instrument supplier to compete directly against Beckman Coulter’s dominant AMPure XP beads in next-generation sequencing sample preparation. MAGFLO NGS beads are QC verified for single and double-sided size selection and interchangeable with gold-standard bead protocols.

The MAGFLO NGS beads enable controlled double-sided size selection across DNA fragment ranges from 100-1000 base pairs, with compatibility extending to long DNA fragments and genomic DNA for long-read sequencing. The beads are suitable for fragmented DNA, RNA, cDNA and PCR products, and are stable at room temperature and RNase-free. In performance validation, MAGFLO NGS demonstrated comparable sequencing metrics and no detectable bias in microbial diversity analysis versus industry-standard beads for Illumina MiSeq amplicon sequencing. The commercial positioning is squarely as a cost-effective alternative capable of replacing legacy premium bead chemistry across most laboratory workflows.

The launch is tied deeply to INTEGRA’s automated liquid handling ecosystem: the beads integrate with the ASSIST PLUS pipetting robot equipped with MAG or HEATMAG modules, and with VIAFLO 96 and VIAFLO 384 handheld electronic pipettes, enabling semi-automated or fully automated DNA clean-up and size selection workflows. This positions INTEGRA to compete not just on consumable price but on end-to-end workflow bundling, a growing sales lever across the NGS sample preparation market. Availability now spans 13 markets across Europe and North America.

The commercial signal is a maturing NGS sample preparation consumables market where cost pressure is opening the door for challenger brands against dominant incumbents.
