BioHorizons Launches CERALOG Metal-Free Implants in US
BioHorizons has launched CERALOG PROGRESSIVE-LINE in the US market, a fully metal-free ceramic dental implant system covering the implant body, restorative components and screw. Announced on 2 November 2026, the launch extends BioHorizons’ US implant portfolio into the growing metal-free segment, offering clinicians a titanium alternative built on the two-piece ceramic design originally developed by partner company Camlog within the BioHorizons CAMLOG Group.
CERALOG delivers a fully metal-free solution across all components: a high-performance ceramic implant, zirconia and PEEK restorative components, and a metal-free screw. The two-piece design provides restorative flexibility beyond traditional one-piece ceramic implant systems, while the bolt-in-tube implant-abutment connection is engineered to deliver a stable, precise connection between the ceramic implant and restorative component. The ceramic material is positioned to combine the mechanical performance required for implant dentistry with the aesthetic benefits of a tooth-coloured substrate. CERALOG features a modern tapered body design with an aggressive thread profile and dedicated surgical instrumentation, giving clinicians a complete surgical and restorative workflow for metal-free cases.
BioHorizons President and CEO Steve Boggan framed the launch around addressing the growing US market for alternative implant solutions, positioning CERALOG as broadening the company’s already extensive implant product portfolio. The US launch sits within BioHorizons’ broader strategy as one of the largest dental implant companies globally, operating from Birmingham, Alabama since 1994 and now covering implants, prosthetics, biomaterials and digital workflows through the BioHorizons Digital Ecosystem. The metal-free segment has grown steadily on the back of patient preference for titanium alternatives, metal sensitivity cases, and aesthetic demands in the anterior region, with ceramic implants moving from niche specialist product into mainstream clinical consideration. The CAMLOG-developed origin brings a mature European clinical track record into the US launch, backed by the broader BioHorizons CAMLOG Group infrastructure.
The commercial signal is a maturing US ceramic dental implant category where BioHorizons’ entry extends mainstream market access to a fully metal-free solution, with the Camlog-origin design providing a mature clinical foundation. US training, surgical instrumentation adoption and clinician education will shape early uptake. Expect sustained growth across the metal-free dental implant category and continued investment in ceramic implant workflows through 2027.
