AGFA HealthCare Renews HITRUST i1 Certification
The HITRUST i1 Validated Assessment and Certification requires organisations to demonstrate that they can address current cybersecurity challenges and remain cyber resilient over time. AGFA HealthCare’s certification was earned against 182 control requirements built on independent testing, centralised quality assurance and HITRUST’s Cyber Threat-Adaptive engine, ensuring continuous alignment with the latest threat intelligence and evolving industry standards. Jarius Jackson, Info Security and Privacy Tech Specialist at AGFA HealthCare, framed the achievement as reinforcing the company’s commitment to protecting data and managing risk as cybersecurity expectations rise across the healthcare sector.
The recertification lands in a healthcare cybersecurity environment shaped by a sustained increase in ransomware attacks against hospital networks, growing regulatory scrutiny under HIPAA, GDPR and the EU NIS2 Directive, and heightened due-diligence expectations from health system procurement teams. Enterprise Imaging platforms sit at the centre of clinical workflows and hold significant volumes of sensitive patient data, making them high-value targets. Gregory Webb, CEO of HITRUST, framed the certification as reflecting AGFA HealthCare’s proactive approach to cybersecurity and to earning customer trust. Healthcare providers increasingly favour vendors that can demonstrate independently validated cybersecurity credentials as part of their procurement process.
The commercial signal is a healthcare IT vendor category where cybersecurity credentials are moving from a nice-to-have to a decisive procurement criterion. Enterprise imaging is particularly exposed given its clinical criticality, patient data volumes and integration with hospital infrastructure. Expect Sectra, Philips, Fujifilm and Siemens Healthineers to continue accumulating similar accreditations to maintain competitive parity with AGFA HealthCare.
