Halliburton Partners with A*STAR to Launch NEX Lab in Singapore

Halliburton and Singapore’s A*STAR have unveiled the Next-Generation Energy Xccelerator Joint Lab (NEX Lab℠). This S$35 million initiative, supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board, aims to revolutionize advanced well completion technologies within the energy sector. By combining Halliburton’s global expertise with A*STAR’s research capabilities, NEX Lab will nurture Singapore’s high-value technical talent pool and strengthen the energy industry’s innovation ecosystem.
Halliburton, a major player in the global energy sector, has partnered with Singapore’s primary public R&D agency, A*STAR, to advance cutting-edge technologies in energy well completions. Since establishing a presence in Singapore in 1973, Halliburton has grown into a significant hub for manufacturing and technology, employing over 800 professionals in various technical roles. This new partnership marks a critical step forward, emphasizing the importance of innovation in transitioning towards a low-carbon energy landscape. The collaboration will focus on integrating design, prototyping, and validation processes under one roof—accelerating the path from early-stage innovation to real-world deployment.
