Thermo Fisher Q3 2026 Revenue Up 9% to $12.14bn

28th October 2026

Thermo Fisher Scientific has reported Q3 2026 revenue of $12.14bn, up 9% year-on-year, with adjusted EPS of $6.68 (up 15%) and GAAP EPS of $4.64 (up 9%). Reported on 21 October 2026, the quarter demonstrated organic growth of 6% and acquisitions contributing an additional 3%, with CEO Marc N. Casper framing the company as well-positioned to deliver an excellent 2026 and reinforcing Thermo Fisher’s commercial dominance across the diversified life sciences tools, analytical instruments, diagnostics and biopharma services markets.

Laboratory Products and Biopharma Services led growth with revenue of $6.86bn, up approximately 15%, with segment margin rising to 15.5% from 14.5%. Life Sciences Solutions revenue reached $2.72bn (up around 5%) at 37.6% margin, while Analytical Instruments reached $2.00bn (up around 6%) at substantially improved 26.9% segment margin (vs. 22.6% prior year). Specialty Diagnostics revenue declined around 6% to $1.10bn, though margin expanded to 31.0% from 27.4%. Group adjusted operating margin reached 24.5% versus 23.3% prior year, with free cash flow of $2.12bn and GAAP operating income of $2.26bn up 17%. The company completed its microbiology business divestiture during the quarter.

Q3 2026 product and partnership highlights included the launch of Orbitrap Isora mass spectrometer (first Orbitrap system for isotope ratio analysis), EMPAD G2 electron detector, FDA-cleared EliA CTD 13 Screen for autoimmune testing, and the Ion 560 Chip offering nearly twice the sequencing capacity of the prior offering. A Precure partnership with Mayo Clinic will combine data from over one million patient samples with proteomics technologies for earlier disease detection. The company opened an AI-Automation Innovation Center in South Korea and a highly automated distribution centre in Kentucky. The results reinforce Thermo Fisher’s dominant positioning against diversified life sciences tools competitors Danaher (Beckman Coulter, Cytiva, SCIEX), Agilent Technologies, Bruker, Waters, Sartorius, Merck KGaA (MilliporeSigma), Revvity, Bio-Rad Laboratories and biopharma services competitors Lonza, Catalent (now Novo Holdings) and Samsung Biologics.

The commercial signal is a continued biopharma services and lab products expansion against softer specialty diagnostics, with margin discipline sustaining EPS growth above revenue growth. Mayo Clinic Precure proteomics partnership signals strategic positioning in early disease detection. Expect Thermo Fisher Scientific, Danaher, Agilent Technologies, Bruker, Waters, Sartorius, Revvity, Lonza and Samsung Biologics to sharpen their life sciences tools and biopharma services positioning through Q4 2026 and 2027.
