Henry Schein discloses its 2024 Progress on Sustainability and Corporate Citizenship

Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC), the world’s largest provider of health care solutions to office-based dental and medical practitioners, today released its 2024 CARES Report detailing the Company’s progress on sustainability and corporate citizenship initiatives. This annual report highlights the ways that Henry Schein engages as a leading corporate citizen with its stakeholder partners to advance the Company’s BOLD+1 strategic plan and commitment to helping health care professionals deliver quality care while making the world healthier, together.

Bergman, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Henry Schein, Inc. “In this year’s CARES report, we are pleased to update on our progress and accomplishments in continuing to work together creatively, collaboratively, and with a shared understanding of our strategy and goals, for the benefit of our business, our stakeholders, and the world.”

 

Henry Schein continues to make progress on its sustainability commitments. Key 2024 highlights and achievements include:

 

  • Validated near-term and long-term science-based emissions reduction targets to become net zero by 2050.
  • A voluntary, global Double Materiality Assessment in accordance with the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), which identified six out of ten ESRS topics as material to the organization,
  • A global “lost-time injury frequency rate” of 0.76 per 200,000 hours worked.
  • Continued expansion of our learning journey by educating TSMs on multiple components of our culture and values, creating an understanding of how to sustain a meaningful, inclusive, and learning oriented culture
  • Continued to offer TSMs volunteer opportunities such as Carry the Load, the We Care Global Challenge, Back to School, and Holiday Cheer to drive purpose and engage in local communities
  • Launched a new CARES Package program, which provides six separate turnkey kits containing a curated selection of donated products for health care professionals to support their local and global communities. Since its inception, 611 kits have been donated in support of 109 projects serving nearly 300,000 patients.
  • Evolved the Henry Schein CARES brand to five core focus pillars: Catalyzing health care access, Advancing policies, solutions and innovation, Relationship building for change, Empowering Team Schein, and Sustaining the planet aimed at generating trust and long-term value creation with our key stakeholders to inspire action.
