Henry Schein Launches B.A. International UC600L
Henry Schein has broadened its B.A. International prophylaxis range with the launch of the UltiClean UC600L, a combined ultrasonic scaler and air polisher unit for supra-gingival and sub-gingival treatments. Announced on 1 July 2026, the new device builds on the UC500L platform with additional operating modes and workflow features aimed at improving usability across a broader range of clinical scenarios. Both units remain available through Henry Schein.
The UC600L combines ultrasonic scaling with powder jet cleaning, delivering up to six operating modes covering soft scaling, ultra scaling, periodontic care, implant maintenance, endodontic work and irrigation. The intent is to consolidate multiple prophylaxis workflows into a single chairside device, reducing the equipment footprint and clinician switching between separate systems for routine cleaning, periodontal maintenance and implant care. Its lightweight, anti-slip form factor is designed for handling during extended procedures, and integrated LED illumination is aimed at improving visibility in the treatment area.
An LED-lit powder container helps clinicians distinguish between powders during procedures, supporting more efficient workflow transitions between prophylaxis modes. The UC600L sits alongside the UC500L in Henry Schein’s portfolio rather than replacing it. The UC500L continues to serve as a workhorse for everyday prophylaxis, while the UC600L extends the range with the additional functionality and design features targeted at practices treating more complex periodontal, implant maintenance and multi-modality caseloads. Both units are distributed through Henry Schein’s UK operation.
The commercial angle is portfolio depth rather than category disruption. With the wider prophylaxis market moving toward combined ultrasonic-and-air-polishing platforms and rising interest in implant maintenance workflows as implant volumes grow across UK practice, giving buyers a tiered UC500L and UC600L choice tightens Henry Schein’s position against category competitors from EMS, Acteon and W&H, particularly in higher-throughput practices.
