Role Overview

The International Service Manager role is responsible for managing OUS (Outside United States) service. Activities for troubleshooting, repair, refurbishment, and analysis on field return items. Position will support the operations, sales and engineering teams by providing information to drive continuous improvement initiatives

Role Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
o Responsible for following procedures within the company’s quality system per ISO 13485 requirements and other applicable international standards.
o Manage OUS service field team
o Manage International Distribution teams
o Troubleshoot defective parts and establish root causes resulting in repair
o Identify and repair field-return bags utilizing various textile equipment (i.e., Sewing Machine and seam-tape machine)
o Process improvements
o Follow test procedures and perform tests for associated parts or units
o Adhere to standard shop practices to include; proper handling of ESD sensitive items and following workflow as directed by supervisor
o Monitor field defect and wear trends to drive the creation of FAQs, Installation, Repair and Maintenance Podcasts
o Assist in the process of creating test procedures for various parts and systems
o Account for parts by properly packaging and tagging them for redistribution
o Keep individual training updated
o Communicate findings or problems with other team members and utilize data base to track them
o Performs additional duties as requested

Person Specifications

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
o Ability to read and navigate electrical/mechanical schematics
o Proficient with utilizing multi-meters, oscilloscopes and wire repair tools
o Ability to troubleshoot down to the IC level and perform necessary repairs
o Ability to sew heavy material utilizing industrial sewing machine
o Ability to learn how to use seam-taping machine
o Ability to solder parts on PCBAs with IPC soldering certification preferred
o Working knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
o Proficient with reading and writing in English
o Attention to detail, project management ability, and professionalism
o Resourcefulness and flexibility to adjust to a changing work environment, competing priorities, frequent changes, delays, and unexpected events
o Able to work independently as well as in a group environment
o Proficient computer skills, working with various office equipment, various programs including Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.
o Work may be performed in a hybrid work environment with the ability to work remotely and at customer locations.
o High technical skills
o International Managerial skills

Education & Experience
o At least 5 years service management experience
o Proficient technical skills

Physical Requirements
o This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
o While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform the following physical activities:
o Lifting. Ability to lift and transport 100 pounds.
o Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
o Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
o Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
o Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
o Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
o Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
o Vision: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
