Field Service Engineer – Medical Imaging
Location: Birmingham, AL (North Alabama Territory)
Are you an Imaging Field Service Engineer or Imaging BMET looking to join a company that values independence, customer service, and technical development?
We’re partnering with a growing medical imaging service provider seeking a Field Service Engineer to support healthcare customers throughout North Alabama. Role Requirements
The Role
You’ll be responsible for servicing and supporting a range of imaging equipment across hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities throughout North Alabama.
Primary responsibilities include:
· Troubleshooting and repairing X-ray systems
· Supporting PACS-related issues and connectivity
· Performing preventative maintenance and corrective repairs
· Building strong customer relationships
· Managing service calls independently
· Providing professional technical support and recommendations to customers
While the immediate focus is X-ray, there will be opportunities to gain exposure to:
· CT
· Mammography
· Cath Lab systems
Travel
· Typically 2-4 overnight stays per month
· Additional travel opportunities available for engineers who are interested in supporting wider regional projects
· Initial training period may involve some travel to Atlanta
Person Specifications
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll likely be someone who:
· Enjoys troubleshooting and solving problems independently
· Has strong customer-facing communication skills
· Takes ownership of their territory and workload
· Is willing to investigate and diagnose issues before escalating
· Can balance a friendly approach with the confidence to manage customer expectations when needed
· Wants to continue developing technically
Attitude, work ethic, and customer service skills are just as important as technical experience.
