Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
As a Field Service Engineer, you will take ownership of the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ongoing performance of advanced laboratory and analytical instrumentation across the Midlands and Central UK. This role offers the opportunity to develop deep technical expertise while supporting researchers, scientists, and healthcare professionals to maximise system uptime and performance.

Role Requirements
Service, maintain, and support advanced laboratory and analytical instrumentation through planned preventative maintenance and corrective service activities.
Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic, and mechanical faults to ensure reliable system performance and minimal customer downtime.
Install, commission, and validate new instrumentation in accordance with manufacturer and customer requirements.
Provide technical troubleshooting and support both remotely and on customer sites, ensuring timely issue resolution.
Build strong working relationships with laboratory, research, pharmaceutical, and healthcare customers while delivering a high standard of technical service.
Maintain accurate service documentation, manage a regional territory effectively, and participate in OEM training and professional development programmes.
Person Specifications
Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer is essential.
Background within Life Sciences, laboratory equipment, analytical instrumentation, diagnostics, medical devices, or other complex technical equipment preferred.
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
Comfortable working independently and managing a regional territory.
Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
Enthusiastic, proactive, and self-motivated approach.
Full UK driving licence.
Flexible regarding occasional overnight stays when required.

£44,000 – £48,000 basic salary
