Flatiron Drives Expansion with NHS Deal
Flatiron increases their international reach through a new partnership with Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Flatiron is known as one of the most established and influential companies for real-world data for oncology, with the move consolidating their plans for international expansion. At the moment they are up and running in Germany, Japan, and the UK, where they collaborate with various hospital and healthcare facilities on RWD projects.
Ultimately, they entered into the deal to be able to create top-notch oncology data which can be licensed and integrated into studies run by biopharmaceutical firms. If successful, this will inevitably create a pipeline of future partnerships and increase the pace of cancer research.
Chief Executive Officer of Flatiron, Carolyn Starrett, explained that “Flatiron has developed a unique offering in the U.K. to translate data from routine clinical care into research-ready datasets.”
They can’t wait to “add more patient experiences into the evidence that supports treatment, development, and regulatory decisions.”
Roche paid $1.9 billion to acquire Flatiron in 2018, and it has since been busy signing collaborative agreements.
The business teamed with an AI driven company, Lifebit, at the start of the month to accelerate the cancer research and treatment process. This came just one month after agreeing to revamp oncology experiments with Sanofi in May.
