BMS Signs Exclusive Deal for Evotec’s Precision Technologies
Bristol Myers Squibb and Evotec are in an active collaboration to develop and advance a number of late-stage research initiatives. Bristol Myers Squibb has signed an exclusive international licencing arrangement in reference to these.
In 2016, the businesses entered into their first ever collaboration for a neurodegenerative project, which ended up being quite successful. In this process they created a pipeline of research activities from discovery to clinical trials. The relationship has been renewed for an additional eight years under new terms of the arrangement, building on what they achieved during their initial alliance.
According to the terms, Bristol Myers Squibb has chosen a variety of initiatives that were quickly established and advanced utilising Evotec’s precision medicine technologies.
Evotec is set to receive $40 million on the back of this, and will also get milestone payments and certain structured royalties dependant on the level of success, which is determined by product sales.
Evotec’s Chief Scientific Officer, Cord Dohrmann, expressed how this “will further bolster our joint pipeline of programs targeting several neurodegenerative conditions.” It will also “make novel innovative treatment options available to patients living with a broad range of neurodegenerative conditions.”
