Applied Biosystems announces new forensic DNA lab service programme
Applied Biosystems has announced the launch of its new Validation Support and Training Programme, intended to make it faster and simpler for forensic DNA laboratories to meet validation guidelines and quality assurance standards.
The new application involves the provision of resources and support from Applied Biosystems’ forensic application experts, allowing the consumer to create and instigate an effective plan for laboratory training and validation, states the company.
Leonard Klevan, president of Applied Biosystems’ applied markets division, commented: "The more that the process of validation can be streamlined and accelerated for a forensic lab, the more it allows forensic scientists to focus on speeding up casework, reducing backlogs and delivering definitive results as expeditiously as possible."
Designed to allow participating laboratory personnel to focus more effort on routine caseworks and other workflow activities, the programme will allow labs to be better able to adopt increasingly effective DNA testing capabilities, reports Applied Biosystems.
Earlier this month, it was announced by the company that it is to hold the inaugural New Jersey Stem Cell Technology Symposium with Rutgers today.
