Millipore launches human cancer biomarker panel
Millipore has announced the launch of the Beadlyte human cancer biomarker.
The firm asserts that the panel includes a five-plex that contains the biomarkers Leptin, Prolactin, Migration Inhibitory Factor, Macrophage and CA-125 as well as a single-plex IGF-II assay.
Each biomarker has been identified in a number of types of tumour, including breast, lung, colorectal and prostate, Millipore states.
The assays can be used to quantify the biomarkers in plasma, serum and tissue/cell culture supernant samples and offers a high level of intra (less than 11 per cent) and inter-assay (below ten per cent) precision, according to the firm
And researchers studying the biochemical signals and mechanisms of all cancer stages may find the panel to be a useful tool due to the biomarkers in the instrument demonstrating the significance of assessing such indicators that change due to the body’s response to the presence of cancer cells.
In recent months, Millipore announced the availability of a kit for researchers to use to generate arthritis mouse models – the ArthroMAB monoclonal antibody cocktail.
