Philips launches mobile patient monitor and measurement module

16th October 2007

Royal Philips Electronics has this month announced the launch of a new patient monitor and multi-measurement module to aid clinicians to better focus their treatment of patients.

The IntelliVue MMS X2 and IntelliVue MP2 can be used in a number of hospital departments, in addition to emergency field use.

A robust, compact and fully-featured patient monitor, the IntelliVue MP2 offers doctors clinical decision support tools, including Horizon Trends and ST Map, while the system can also be connected to the IntelliVue clinical network.

The IntelliVue MMS X2 is a multi-measurement module that can be used with compatible IntelliVue patient monitors from Philips, while also offering an independent transport monitor with its own display when detached from its host.

David Russell, vice-president of global marketing for patient monitoring at Philips Medical Systems, said: ” With the introduction of MMS X2 and MP2, issues surrounding patient safety and disaster preparedness are moved to the forefront.”

He added that the company has responded to the needs of first responders and clinicians who have expressed a desire for a more simple means of tracking and monitoring vital signs of patients during the cycle of care.

In June 2007, Philips Medical Systems announced the release of optional enhancements to its iSite picture archiving and communications system.
