Millipore introduces spring seal technology for PTFE valves
Millipore has announced the launch of aseptic valves that are now available with PTFE diaphragms.
According to the life science specialist, which provides cutting-edge technologies, tools, and services for bioscience research and biopharmaceutical manufacturing, the "outstanding thermal and chemical durability" of PTFE makes it an ideal material for diaphragms in multi-product processes.
"The new spring-closed valve seal for PTFE diaphragms is based on a forced cup spring technology – patent pending – which applies pressure over the diaphragm seat and maintains this pressure over time," explained a spokesperson for Millipore Corporation.
"This unique technique reduces the maintenance needs with prolonged life time," added the representative.
Millipore’s NovAseptic valves are available in various sizes, with their aseptic design eliminating deadlegs, minimising product hold-up and facilitating a safe and cost-efficient production.
In addition, the valves are easily cleaned and sterilised.
Millipore, which has more than 6,100 employees in 47 countries worldwide, strives to collaborate with customers to "confront the world’s challenging human health issues".
