Bioquell’s ‘Implant’ team deployed to UK hospital trust

Bioquell has revealed that the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the first UK hospital trust to deploy a Bioquell ‘Implant’ team on a preventative basis.

The Bioquell ‘Implant’ team, which is used to combat hospital acquired infection, comprises of an on-site group of Bioquell engineers and specialist, proprietary hydrogen peroxide vapour sterilisation equipment.

According to the company, it is used to decontaminate rooms and equipment in hospitals to prevent against superbugs such as MRSA and VRE or norovirus.

Nick Adams, chief executive of the company, said: "After a decade of research and development into the decontamination of ‘superbugs’ and sterilisation of rooms containing sensitive electronic equipment, we are delighted to see Bioquell’s unique hydrogen peroxide vapour technology being deployed in a proactive manner against hospital acquired infection in the UK."

Currently Bioquell’s implant teams are used in two US hospitals.
