Lomb names new CTO

Bausch & Lomb has named John Sheets as its new chief technology officer (CTO) and as its newest corporate vice president, it has been revealed.

Having worked in the pharmaceutical’s industry for around 25 years, Dr Sheets has considerable high-level management experience and has previously served as chief executive at the Hoya Surgical Optics company.

A specialist in ophthalmic research and development, Bausch & Lomb’s new technology chief filled the same post with Ethicon until recently.

Gerald Ostrov, chairman and chief executive of the pharmaceutical company said that it is an honour for him to announce that Dr Sheets is to become his new CTO.

“We expect his leadership to have an exceptionally positive impact on strengthening our existing and future product pipeline,” said Mr Sotrov.

Some of Bausch & Lomb’s most popular products around the world include eye drops, contact lenses and surgical procedures in corresponding fields.
