Teva UK expands generics range

25th July 2008

Teva UK has announced the launch of a new set of products that will extend its generic drug supply offering around the country.

Bicalutamide tablets are now available to consumers in the UK and the company maintains that the launch of the new products will enhance its position as a major supplier to pharmacies nationwide.

On offer in 50 mg and 150 mg variants, the drug can be used to treat prostate cancer and is a generic version of the Fosamax equivalent developed by AstraZeneca, Teva UK explains.

“We’re delighted to be adding this important new product to our ever-expanding generics range,” said Kim Innes, director of Teva Generics.

“Bicalutamide is a significant addition to our portfolio and its addition to our range further consolidates our position as the UK’s leading generic supplier.”

Teva UK has been trading as such since 2004 and the company is part of the Israel-based pharmaceutical business Teva, which claims to be “undoubtedly” the biggest generic drug supplier in the world.
