Shire has announced the relaunch of its Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) support website which provides sufferers with a virtual road map for the condition.
The site at ADHDSupport.com offers information, tools and practical tips, while the newly-enhanced portal has been designed to be easy-to-navigate and incorporates feedback and information from an expert in the field.
One feature of the website is a symptom tracker to help patients record their condition for use in follow-up discussions with doctors.
A teacher discussion guide, homework planner and email reminder programme that allows children or parents to set up reminders for prescriptions, medical appointments and social activities is due to be added to the site during the summer.
Michele Novotni, former president and chief executive officer of the national Attention Deficit Disorder Association, said: “ADHD is a common psychiatric disorder that can impact the lives of many people, including patients, caregivers, friends and co-workers.”
She added the condition had affected her own personal and professional life, making her passionate about providing information about the condition in a format that is easily accessible.
Last month, Shire announced the non-safety related voluntary recall of two batches of its Daytrana (methylphenidate transdermal system) patches used to treat ADHD.
