Andor launch new X-ray camera

Andor Technology has launched their new iKon-M X-ray camera.

The global scientific imaging and spectroscopy solutions firm announced yesterday (August 19th) the latest in its established iKon range of low light imaging cameras, which are designed to deliver high-performance solutions to direct detection X-ray needs.

It is available in two variants: DO which interfaces easily with vacuum chambers and DY that is a standalone camera with a beryllium input window.

A company statement said the new camera will provide a very low read noise floor, high QE across the X-ray, XUV and EUV energy ranges.

Doctor Colin Coates, the organisation’s market development manager, said he was delighted to announce the launch of the latest addition to the X-ray family of cameras.

"The iKon-M X-ray offers unparalleled thermoelectric cooling and ultra low noise readout, making it ideal for a range of applications including; Soft X-ray imaging, Lithography, X-ray microscopy, and Plasma diagnostics," he added.

It was reported last month by the Belfast Telegraph that Andor was in the advanced stages of talks about a potential management buy-out.
