Metrohm launches 831 KF Coulometer

Metrohm has unveiled the latest addition to its Karl Fischer range of equipment with the 831 KF Coulometer for detecting trace amounts of water in petrochemicals.

The company said the machine combines compact design, flexibility and easy operation with the ability to master "a large number of analytical tasks".

The instrument comes with expert and standard modes, with the standard setting allowing access only to the functions needed for routine analysis work.

Furthermore, the 831 KF Coulometer can be connected to the 700 Dosino, allowing users to siphon off the contents of the caulometric cell and refill it with fresh reagent. As the KF vessel remains closed throughout this process, no humidity can enter the system, which means the analysis cell is conditioned again as quickly as possible, Metrohm said.

For samples that cannot be introduced directly into the KF cell, Metrohm recommends the use of a KF oven. The 832 KF Oven can be used to handle a small number of samples but for a larger amount, the 774 Oven Sample Processor may be more appropriate.

When combined with the 831 KF Coulometer, this unit can automatically process up to 35 specimens.

Metrohm was founded in 1948 in Herisau, Switzerland.
