Thermo Fisher Scientific releases third quarter figures
Thermo Fisher Scientific has released its third quarter figures.
Revenues increased by eight per cent to $2.59 billion (1.69 billion pounds) in the third quarter of the year – described as a "record" figure for the world leader in serving science.
Acquisitions, net of divestitures, added three per cent to revenues while a 1.5 per cent increase was produced by currency translation.
Thermo Fisher Scientific’s president and chief executive Marijn E Dekkers said it was "another strong quarter", despite some "softness in demand" towards the end.
"Our diverse customer base, extensive geographic reach and attractive mix of consumables, instruments, software and services, give us a distinct advantage in the marketplace," he explained.
Mr Dekker added cost structure is being managed carefully while investment continues to be made in new technologies, commercial capabilities and markets that will boost growth in the future.
People in scientific sales jobs may be interested in Thermo Fisher, which also manufactures specifically-designed products for customers and offers modifications to its standard products.
