PerkinElmer makes appointment in cellular imaging and analysis solutions division

PerkinElmer has announced it has appointed a new vice-president and general manager in its cellular imaging and analysis solutions sector.

Achim von Leoprechting, formerly the European sales director within the PerkinElermer’s bio-discovery business element, will now be responsible for pushing forward the cellular imaging business.

Commenting on the appointment, president of bio-discovery Richard Eglen said: "Achim brings significant global and technical knowledge which will be instrumental in providing customers with the imaging solutions they need to better understand the biological processes of disease."

Dr von Leoprechting added he was "delighted" to be given the opportunity to work in developing imaging and analysis for the worldwide community.

He received his PhD in biology at Albert-Ludwigs-University, Freiburg and Germany.

People in scientific sales jobs may be interested in PerkinElmer’s partnership with the European Molecular Biology Laboratory to support the latter’s Advanced Training Centre in Heidelberg, Germany. The company announced the collaboration this week.
